God is faithful

My 40 days fasting was completed. I actually did 41 days, including the Pentecost Sunday.

A lot has happened in these 40 days, especially in the last few days. I want to recap these, hoping that these will also encourage you as well.

Cancellation of Trip to Honduras

As I said, my trip to Honduras was cancelled in a very last minute, due to the country's political circumstance and protests started.

This was a huge disappointment but this also opened up new doors for me.

Going back to full fasting

I went back to full fasting. I changed to partial fasting (giving up dinners) after full fasting for the first 21 days, considering the upcoming trip to Honduras. Once learning the trip was cancelled, I decided to go back to full fasting.

Healing and Deliverance

That week, I was pleasantly surprised by the visit from my neighbour, who reported me that his swelling was significantly reduced since I prayed for him about a month ago. Also, I was visited by someone who was possessed. When we praised the name of Jesus, the evil spirit left and the person experienced the love of God.

Words of Knowledge and Prophecy

On Wednesday evening, I visited the Gathering Place to pray with others. They had a pastor and prayer team from Sarnia, visiting to pray with us. As we were praying, a number of people came to give words of knowledge and prophecy. No one, especially those from Sarnia, did not know who I was and what I was doing, but they said things like, "You seem to be in transition," "I sensed that God was saying you made a list of things you want to do in future and God says yes to every one of them (and yes I did make a list!)," "God wants to bring transformation through you in where you are." I came to the prayer meeting with deeply discouraged heart due to the result of the General Assembly of my denomination, but I left with my heart greatly encouraged and uplifted. Before leaving, I just sat on the stage, weeping and saying, "Lord, who am I that you are mindful of me? (Psalm 8:4)"

Pentecost Sunday Prayer Gathering

When my wife asked me how many we were expecting at the prayer meeting (in order for her to prepare refreshments), I said "Probably 10 to 20," because I wasn't actively promoting it other than my blog. I personally invited an only handful number of people, because I would like them to be there with me. When the time came to pray, I was surprised to find about 50 people gathered to pray with us.

It was such an worshipful time, and when everyone expressing their hearts to lift the name of Jesus in their praise and prayer, I could definitely sense that God was so pleased. At one point, I felt like the ground was shaking.

In fact, a number of people reported later to me to affirm what I was sensing. One person reported that she sensed God telling her, "I will start something with these people here." Another person later reported me that she had a dream the following night and God told her in dream that "I will raise two people from here to serve the nation and one person to serve the church." One person, who was having a spiritual numbness, while praying with us, said, "I never heard God speaking more loudly than this, and he said, "I love you."" He now wants to give all of himself to serve the Lord. Many of prayers told us they would love to have this again.

There are other many little miracles and/or God's providence in my 40 days of fasting. I just can't believe how powerful fasting can be in spiritual realm. I give all praise and honour to our Lord for his help. More than anything, he answered every single prayer I offered. My biggest prayer was God's direction in my future and I am now very confident of where God is leading me.

In near future, I am hoping to invite some of my friends and share our vision that God has put in our hearts. Thank you so much for your prayer and support. If you are interested in knowing what God has put in us, make sure to subscribe to our blog and we will make sure you are informed about this vision-sharing meeting.

In Christ,

John
