Final Blog - New Ministry

It's been so long since I posted my last blog article and this article is going to be my last post here on this blog site. Don't be disappointed too soon, as it actually means the beginning of our new ministry!

I'm sorry I have not given you any update on what's happening. I haven't shared anything recently, because 1) I was so busy, 2) I wanted to share updates once they are more firm and official, and here we are: our new ministry is official!

Here's what happened since my last email:

1. I was able to incorporate a new ministry, called Faith L.A.B.S. This is a new ministry I'm starting and this ministry exists to provide a space for people to explore and experiment in a Christian faith environment. We help the people with problems and we help the people with new ideas, but don't have places to go to or supporters to help their journey. They can come and we will be their listening ears and prayer partners. If you have taken an Alpha course before, you would know the atmosphere and environment you experienced at Alpha. We want to create the same atmosphere and environment, but this space is not just to introduce Christian faith, but to help people explore all kinds of matters in a Christian faith context.

This ministry exists also to help see the Kingdom of God realized in the city of London by bringing local churches together to work and pray together for the common good.

We have a website and it's faithlabs.ca. We also exist on facebook (fb.com/faithlabslondon/). Due to the current pandemic crisis, we do a lot of our ministries currently on internet.

We are currently offering an online prayer meeting for London every Monday night at 9pm on facebook live. We provide an online marriage course for young couples. We run multiple discipleship groups of young people. We are also currently developing children's faith teaching contents.

2. I'm working with various groups within our denomination (The Presbyterian Churches in Canada) to help our local churches to deal with this time of uncertainty (ie. COVID19 situation as well as the postponing of GA this year). We are almost ready to roll out our next phase, and if you belong to the PCC, you will hear from us soon. Sorry, I can't share too much information at this point.

3. I'm also working with Greater London Celebration of Hope with Will Graham (https://london.billygraham.ca/) as a co-chair of London Prayer Committee. Despite this pandemic crisis, we continue to do various works online. We are offering online prayer meetings twice a month. Once a month, we will provide an online video premiere for prayer (Watch the last one: )www.billygraham.ca/facebook-live), and on every 4th Thursday at 7 pm, we will have a live zoom prayer meeting, and I will be leading this zoom prayer meeting. You can visit their website (https://london.billygraham.ca/) and sign up to get involved through prayer. We will also soon roll out an online training course where we train laypeople to share the Gospel with others.

STEPS FOR YOU TO TAKE:

1. Follow us on Facebook and Youtube. You should be able to see all the contents we are creating. We will also share our ministry updates on these social medias and website, instead of this personal blog.

2. Visit our website, faithlabs.ca. You will learn a little more about our ministries and also be able to support us financially.

3. Join us on Echo Prayer. Echo Prayer is an app available on both Android and iOS. It's a great app that can help you pray and also share your prayers with others. I've created a feed where you can receive our ministries' prayer requests. To do this, you can go to its website (https://new.echoprayer.com/) or go to an appstore and search for Echo Prayer. Download and install the app. When you open the app, sign up (very simple) and then go to FEED and search for "Faith L.A.B.S." (you can search for faith labs and still find us on the fifth in the search). When you choose to follow us, then you will receive all our prayer requests right into your app, when you choose to "Pray Now" on the app's home screen. You may also choose to follow our "Pray for London" feed as well. This is the feed where we will share prayers related to the city of London.

In Christ,

John
